Tell me more about veneers…

Porcelain veneers are an ideal way to quickly and completely transform your teeth and give you a radiant, perfect smile. If you are unhappy with the shade or shape of your teeth, veneers offer the ultimate esthetic solution. A tiny amount of enamel is removed from the front surfaces of the teeth. An impression of the prepared teeth is sent to the lab, and your porcelain veneers are custom made to mimic natural teeth in every way.

1st Appointment: Diagnosis and Treatment Goals Discussion

At this appointment, you and your dentist will discuss your treatment options, your expectations for treatment, and the procedure for fabricating your new smile.

2nd Appointment: Impressions for Diagnostic Models and Wax-up

In order to facilitate communication between you, your dentist and the laboratory that will be fabricating your veneers, a wax-up is made to mimic your veneers. Changes can be made to the wax-up based on your esthetic goals. At this appointment, we will take impressions to send to the lab, which they will then use to make the wax-ups.

*Please bring any photographs if you have a “smile type” you would like to replicate!

*Optional Appointment: Zoom! Whitening

Porcelain veneers do not respond to teeth whitening, so any whitening must be completed prior to the veneer prep appointment. We offer in-office whitening for the most dramatic and fastest results.

 3rd Appointment: Wax-up Presentation

You and your dentist will evaluate the wax-up, and make any changes if necessary. This wax-up will serve as the mold for your temporary veneers.

 4th Appointment: Veneer Preparation

Treated teeth will be reduced on the front side by about 0.5 mm to create room for the veneers. An impression will be taken and sent to the lab to fabricate your porcelain veneers. You will wear temporary veneers for about 2 weeks while the lab fabricates the final product.

Optional: Visit the dental laboratory for precise shade matching

If you are placing veneers on less than your upper front 8 teeth, it is recommended to visit the dental lab to obtain a precise shade match to your natural teeth.

5th Appointment: Veneer Delivery and Impressions for Night Guard

The temporary veneers are removed and the final veneers are placed for your evaluation. Provided you approve of their shape, form and shade, the veneers are cemented into place. It is recommended that a night guard be fabricated to be worn every night in order to protect your veneers. Failure to do so could jeopardize their long-term success.
